Teen Actor Hudson Joseph Meek, Who Appeared in Baby Driver, Dies at 16 After Falling from Moving Vehicle

Hudson Joseph Meek was an American actor known for his roles in film and television. Born on August 5, 2008, in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, he began his acting career at a young age, sharing the screen with his brother, Tucker Meek. 

Meek's early work included a role in the 2014 television movie "The Santa Con," where he appeared alongside Melissa Joan Hart.  He gained wider recognition for portraying the young version of Ansel Elgort's character in the 2017 film "Baby Driver."  His television appearances included an episode of the "MacGyver" reboot in 2016.  Meek's filmography also featured roles in "Found" (2023) and "The School Duel" (2024).

Beyond acting, Meek was a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, where he was actively involved in various extracurricular activities. He was a member of the school's football team, the Honor Choir, and the Student Government Association. His interests extended to outdoor activities, including water sports, traveling, and scuba diving; he achieved advanced open water scuba certification at the age of 13. 

Tragically, on December 19, 2024, Meek was involved in an accident in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, where he fell from a moving vehicle. He sustained severe injuries and passed away on December 21, 2024, at UAB Hospital.  His family announced plans for a memorial service and established the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship in his honor, aiming to support a Vestavia Hills High School student annually. 

Meek's vibrant personality, dedication to his craft, and the joy he brought to those around him left a lasting impact on his community and the entertainment industry.
